Inspiration, motivation

Let your goals be your biggest motivation.

The road to success is not an easy one, nothing good comes easy. It is often said that a smooth sea does not make a good sailor. Our pursuits doesn’t take comfort to achieve. To say the least, many give up on the way because the process takes way too much stress, fear, anxiety and discouragement than they ever imagined.

There are no short-cuts to any place worth going. It takes a whole lot of resilience to continue in that pursuit in the face of all difficulties and pressures of life. Why do you continue? Because you have a mental picture of your goals. Where you’re going and what you hope to achieve. It is that feeling that fuels your Passion.

Goals enable us become the kind of person we want to become, and accomplish the things we wish to accomplish. When you’re working towards anything that matters heavily to you, whether big or small, in a world where there’s constant distractions and crisis, it is often difficult to stay committed and focused.

Sometimes these difficulties can become too depressing that we want to give up. It is then important to Visualize your end-result in your mind’s eye and imagine what it would feel like if you accomplish that goal. That feeling should be your driving force.

Take for example that you’re a college student studying for Medicine or whatever field you so desire, despite whatever displeasures or unfavorable conditions you may find yourself in school, you will have to constantly remind yourself of your goal and importantly work harder in your studies in order to get good grades. Your goal becomes your motivation. And at that point, nothing else matters.

Or a shoe cobbler whose goal is to achieve three square meals daily and be able to meet other immediate life demands. No matter the odds of the job or whatever difficulty he encounters, he reminds himself the goals he’s set, and that propels his momentum. That Goal is the motivation.

Or perhaps this little girl here who’s passionate about writing and using this medium to reach people, grow and evolve as well.

Your goals might be ‘scary’. It may sound ‘insane’ when you share it. To the doubters, ‘how the hell do you even think that’s possible?’ It may even scare you – the carrier. Like feeling less confident or inadequate because you think you’re not ‘good enough’.

Let me tell you something I probably may have said this many times before. Your goals should be bigger than you. Yes you heard right! If it’s not, you’re probably not dreaming enough. Don’t contain your dreams or make it small because you’re scared. When you understand that you’re carrying something bigger than you on the inside, I don’t know any force strong enough to hold you back.

If you want to achieve success, then don’t doubt your dreams. ~ Ryan D’ Souza.

  1. Hello Jessica,

great post. I like that word “Goal”.That word is very important for me,because I know, until I have a goal I am alive. Without goal I would not exist.

    Thank you

    1. I agree with you Ben, if you aren’t chasing anything, are you just existing or living? A goal is a worthy pursuit. And to live is to be able to not just set goals but work to achieve them.

      Thanks for your comment.

  2. Love this! Detoxing negative energy is a great way to feel motivated. Sometimes, people try to bring us down and discourage us from obtaining our goals. But letting go of the negative energy eliminates most of the stress, and overall gives us a brighter perception of our goals. Thanks for sharing!
